...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM EDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL FRANKLIN COUNTY...

At 514 PM EDT, Storms that produced the very heavy rainfall have
moved out of the area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
area as showers continue to move through, which will collect in
streams and rivers. Flash flooding remains possible for the next
several hours.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

  Sydnorsville...

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Grassy Fork, Root Mill Creek, Big Chestnut Creek, Snow Creek, Reed
  Creek, Little Chestnut Creek and South Fork Little Chestnut Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports
and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service
Blacksburg Facebook page and on X.
